Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus and Bosses are from Hell.
Chapter 1 - Life Sucks
Browsing through the bookstore after lunch, I was striked by the number of books written on relationships, especially the series of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus.
I guess it was stems from the fact that there are high divorce rates and worse still low marriage rates around the globe! However, there are times when I think that from time to time we do need some population shrinkage to better manage the world. Already certain quarters are complaining about the world being too competitive due to too mant people around, either in the work place or in the leisure place.
However, my blog here is not to discuss the fundamental impacts of population explotions or shrinkages, rather you should see it as an extension of the Men are from Mars series.
I have to be brutally honest with you, people nowadays are a hardworking lot ! Working more than they are requird to and getting paid less than they should be. But somehow, this have been going around for decades and as the years goes by, people take this for granted that they should be underpaid and overworked.
You can say this as a "Sobig-underpaid" virus that is affecting the global workers. And launching simultaneously with that virus is another virus called " Trojan -Overworked" virus which at the moment is affecting most of the workers.
At the moment, the only group of workers, who are immune to such virus are the CEOs, the directors and the people who has the big M as their shield, i.e. The Management People. But the truth is they are the people who launch these virus to us.
Sadly, this has implications on the workers' life, as earlier mentioned, they spend 2/3's of their time in the office, while their mental CPU is slowly being corrupted by the viruses. While they go back home, the side effects become apparent, grumpy, moody, violent and crazy and this essentially becomes the personality of the person.
Therefore, a lot of relationships do not work is because the inner core of the workers have become bitter and resentful and unknowingly this has affect the core of feelings of most people.
Therefore, to improve the relationships with your love ones, you need to examine yourself whther you are happy at work, as the IKEA's slogan " When work is Joy Life is a Pleasure". Judging from my own experince and from most of my friends' experience, I can safely assure you life is no pleasure for me and you get the general picture of how the working life is!
I guess your work place can really be a pleasure, if you are working for yourself, but then it will throw you off the equation because YOU are the BOSS !
Are Bosses really from other planet. It seems strange to actually label them from other planets as we know that they are actually once workers like us, eager to climb the corporate ladder, it is just that we stopped halfway to rest, while these go-getters stepped on our backs and stabbed our backs as well to reach the tops.
I guess that is what differentiates them from us. However there are another category of bosses, which you can say that they are bosses from day 1, from that day they came out to this world, they were the bosses' son, ready to take over the family empire if the empire is still there.
All he needs to do is go to some grooming classes and learn how to eat properly with all the forks and spoons laid on the table. And of course, he must be equally good at drinking alcholic beverages as that is how we differentiate the good - for - nothin's
